our usual microphone busted on us a few weeks ago, becoming weak at the jack end where the most bending and stress occurs. dejay4twin however, had another 'junk' mic that supposedly never worked. i picked up a mic cable at radioshack and proceeded to test this 'realistic' mic. no dice. opened it up to find that the wires seemed to not-be-connected. perplexed, me and dejay4twin decided to put some of our college education to use, and busted out a soldering iron and setup on a table. we took the three wires inside the base (red, white, and brown) and matched them to the top diaphragm/magnet part, making sure to match the colors with their polarity and brown for ground (sometimes black). a few drips of metal and we sealed the deal. we gave it another test and BooYah! we have vocal soundwaves amplified!
a new podcast show is available on the dj zonabi 'cast. it's an hourlong mix exploring different kinds of house music, hence the name. you will bounce your body from electro-house to groovy house, and variations in-between. some of the tracks featured include dido (remixed by scumfrog), jamiroquai, mash, engine, basement jaxx, dublex inc., and more. the actual recording took place 2007.06.03 and was featured on the dj zonabi house set video on youtube last year. overall the mix is pretty solid, i'm not quite sure why it wasn't released sooner (probably because there is way too much material to sift thru) but thanks to blasta for requesting the audio file from that video. without further ado, i invite you to subscribe to the dj zonabi podcast on iTunes, or at least add the zonabi 'cast xml feed into your rss reader. you can also simply grab the actual different houses mixx by dj zonabi mp3 file.
